What a week!
It started with an invitation on the Friday to go onto the Vincent Browne show on Monday night. For those who aren’t familiar with it, it’s a late night political broadcast and usually takes the format of Browne, the host, interviewing 5 people on a panel (which usually include politicians) and having a review of the next day’s papers. They were filming in Carlow and were looking for a female farmer, Suzanna Crampton ‘kindly’ sent them my way. [...]
It’s the Ploughing Championships this week, Ireland’s biggest agricultural event, taking place over three days. Starting in 1931, it has gone from an event with a few farmers ploughing to having over 300,000 in attendance.

Are you going to ‘The Ploughing’? Yes, the Ploughing Championships starts tomorrow and with the weather being so good, I’d imagine that even more people will attend over the 3 days than last year. There will be dust rather than mud! I was setting up today and the conditions are perfect. Well, the ground might be a bit hard for the ploughing but perfect for the rest of us!
