WarHorse – what an Irish farmerette thought of it!

We went to see War Horse last night, it wasn’t our first choice (wanted to see The Artist but it wasn’t on in Carlow) but having read the book and enjoyed it, I was also looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.

Irish Farmers & Farmerettes Holiday in France

We had a lovely time on holidays even if we are all exhausted now and suffering with headcolds! We went to Euro Disney for 4 nights and although it was cold, it was milder than we expected. The children enjoyed the parades but a sign that they are growing up is that they weren’t bothered about queuing to meet any of the characters. We got one photo with Mickey (no queue) and that was it!

Farmerette or Farmette

Imen’s post on changing the name of her blog to match with her column and her twitter username got me thinking. ?She is known as ‘Modern Farmette’. ?Is the correct term ‘farmerette’ or ‘farmette’ I wondered, especially as I am calling myself a farmerette. Does it matter? Are they seen as one and the same thing?

I consulted the Oxford English Dictionary online and neither are in use [...]

Rhubarb & Orange Cake

Loving rhubarb, I do love this rhubarb cake. I had a bag of frozen rhubarb in the freezer and decided to make it again last week – I know, as if we hadn’t had enough sweet stuff over the Christmas but this wasn’t chocolately or laden with rich fruit so it made a refreshing (although still perfect for my sweet tooth) change.
