Indie Book of the Day – Yay

I got a lovely email yesterday when I was away, telling me that my book was featured at the Indie Book of the Day which was nice. I received a nice certificate and badge which makes me (and the farmer in the book, of course) feel very special!

Indie Book Awards - awarded to 'Would You Marry A Farmer?'

I was away for a couple of days in Cheshire – attending the Farmers on Film conference, the international Cheese Awards and Nantwich Show so I’ve lots of news and photos to share with you over the next couple of days once I get blog awards judging stuff sorted! The Hydro Hotel in Lisdoonvarna got in contact too and have invited me down to do a book signing or two while the festival is on. I’ve also applied to Laois LEO for a stand in their tent at the Ploughing Championships so if all goes well, the latter half of September is going to be pretty hectic.

When I first read your comment, I thought ‘yikes, are people sick of listening to me’ – they probably are!
I do – at times. I tend to go at it every so often but it can take a while for results to filter through. Some comes to me now though too, Ear to the Ground magazine contacted me which was nice, hadn’t sent them a press release. I was interviewed for that in May but it only came out recently.
I want to maximise sales until Xmas – give it a good year and then let it trickle. Next book will be out next summer all going well, then I’ll ramp it up again. Really hoping I get a stand at the Ploughing match – will be interesting to see what interviews etc I can secure at it. Then, yes, once the blog awards are over on 4th Oct, I will need to lie down in a darkened room for a week.

Sweet – I haven’t looked yet to see if it has had a positive effect on ebook sales or not. Did you find it was good?
Nice to get in any case 🙂
