Summer Has Hit Ireland – for a day!

Summer hit Ireland today and we embraced it with open arms. The temperature last night was to be between zero and -5 degrees Celsius and there was plenty of white frost on the ground this morning but by the time all the calves were fed, it was already becoming warm.

The kids and I spent a lot of the day in the garden – weeding the strawberry bed, cutting the grass and playing football. The kids were still playing football at 8:30 and it almost felt like a summer’s evening. I haven’t seen a forecast yet for next week yet but I really hope it stays fine – apart from soil needing higher temperatures for the grass to grow, it puts everyone in a much better humour!
